Chemistry Tercentenary Masters Scholarships
The School of Chemistry will offer a small number of scholarships for students starting a full-time MSc programme in the 2024-2025 academic session.
The Chemistry Tercentenary Masters Scholarship helps outstanding postgraduate taught masters students to study in the School of Chemistry by providing for some of the costs of their training.
Each scholarship covers the University tuition fee and are open to both UK and International students. The scholarship is tenable for one academic session. This award cannot be held concurrently with fully-funded scholarships. It can, however, be combined with other partial funding. Please note these are not transferable if you need to defer.
The scholarships are offered to UK and International applicants starting a full-time MSc programme in the School of Chemistry in September 2024 on:
- MSc Analytical Chemistry
- MSc Medicinal & Biological Chemistry
- MSc Materials Chemistry
Applicants to the MSc Research programme will not be considered for this award.
The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and supporting statement with candidates requiring the equivalent of a first-class honours degree or upper second-class honours degree from a recognised university or institution. Non-native English Language speakers must meet the University entry requirements of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Applications for 2024-2025 are now closed as April 18th deadline has passed.
Frequently Asked Questions
The School Scholarships Allocation Committee will meet in April 2024 to select the scholarship holder. To be eligible you must hold an offer and have applied for the scholarship. All eligible offer holders including the winner will be notified thereafter. The School will offer scholarships to offer holders based on their MSc application taking into consideration academic qualifications and results as well as other achievements and a supporting statement. Scholarships will be offered based on merit and to the highest calibre applicants (see Scholarship criteria) and based on the candidate’s application for the Masters course.
