Assessment and feedback
Feedback (and related assessment) has been an area of research and development activity since the division was established.
We are particularly interested in supporting students’ development as assessors themselves through feedback and engagement in ‘assessment literacy’ activities. Our funded research has included investigation of technological approaches to enhancing assessment and feedback – such as audio-feedback, the use of tools such as PeerWise to engage students in the activity of question generation and adaptive comparative judgement. Team members are also actively researching the evolution of the OSCE assessment format and peer assessment. We are also involved in national level assessment sharing and assessment development projects.
