Tuition fees

Withdrawal from the University

If you are withdrawing from the University of Edinburgh, our policy for postgraduate research study explains the fees you will need to pay.

Self-funded students

If you withdraw from your studies, you will be charged:

  • for the months you attended before your withdrawal
  • proportionately to the annual tuition fee

Any annual additional programme costs will be charged in full if you have started the next year of study.

If you withdraw from a programme - with appropriate academic approval - within the first couple of weeks of starting Year 1 of your studies, no tuition fees will be charged at the discretion of the University.
