Revised Trans Policy (Students)

The University’s Trans Policy (Students) has been updated following input and feedback from our community. The policy replaces the previous Trans Equality Policy that applied to both students and staff.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone in our community can thrive. The Trans Policy (Students) outlines in more helpful detail than before what support our Trans students can access from the University, from application and pre-arrival through to graduation. Consultation sessions with students and feedback from Edinburgh University Students’ Association have informed this policy and our ongoing work to support our students.

We want to support all students to achieve their full potential and be their authentic selves at the University. How our students access support is not changing. Your Student Adviser, if you’re an undergraduate or postgraduate taught student, or Graduate School team, if you’re a postgraduate research student, are here to help you during your time at Edinburgh. They can signpost you to further support and University services as appropriate.

There is now also a separate Trans Policy (Staff).
