The lunches, which started in 2019, are a cheerful way for our community to mark the end of the first semester and celebrate a well-deserved break. But they aren’t just a chance for attendees to enjoy a meal and test their trivia with a quiz. They are also an invaluable opportunity for staff and students to meet outside of teaching, fostering a seasonal sense of belonging.
This year, more than 250 students joined academic and professional services staff, and senior leaders, to celebrate the season with all the trimmings at our Festive Lunches. Guests pulled Christmas crackers, enjoyed a traditional three-course dinner, and took part in a quiz at tables hosted by staff from across our Schools and Colleges.
The Festive Lunches are a great way for our community to come together outside of teaching and share traditions and experiences from all over the world. We love to see students chatting to each other, making friends and plans to meet again.
