The University has created a new short film to answer common questions about its Report + Support platform, which students and staff can use to report abusive behaviour.
What is Report + Support?
Report + Support is an online platform that any of our students or staff can use to report sexual assault and exploitation, domestic abuse, stalking and harassment or online abuse. It doesn’t matter when or where this took place.
Report + Support is a 24/7 service, so you can report at any time, and a trained member of staff will contact you.
If you choose to provide your details, the University’s Equally Safe team will contact you in confidence to offer you support and advice on your safety, your emotional and physical wellbeing and other aspects like legal advice or access to counselling.
You can also make an anonymous report – although we can’t respond to these, this gives us information to shape our services.
International campaign
The University is highlighting its Report + Support platform during the annual international campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, which runs from 25 November until 10 December 2022.
During this year’s campaign, there will be a series of events co-ordinated by Edinburgh’s Equally Safe Partnership to showcase some of the work taking place across Edinburgh to tackle gender-based violence and support those affected:
- 30 November: The screening of ‘Spiked: A Safety Crisis’, created by University of Edinburgh students
- 7 December: ‘The Past, the Present, and #What’s Next?’ – an event exploring the history of the women’s movement in Scotland
