Aurora aims to encourage women in academic and professional roles to think of themselves as leaders and develop leadership skills, and to help institutions maximise the potential of their female staff.
Participants in Aurora must:
- be a woman at Grade UE07, UE08 or UE09 who would like to develop her career and leadership – the aim is to reach these women prior to their first significant step up (academic or professional services);
- commit to attending four development days, one action learning day and a half-day in-house evaluation session;
- commit to being mentored and participating in local networking events.
Mentors
The programme is open to both academic and support services staff, and participants are matched with a mentor from within the University.
Staff who wish to be considered themselves or who have suggestions for participants should contact the head of their school or support group. Places are limited and will be agreed by 30 September 2015.
Those interested in becoming an Aurora mentor should contact Frances Grebenc, HR/OD Partner (Learning and Development).
