Changes come into effect from 2013/14 in a range of areas, including:
- associated institution status
- accessible and inclusive learning
- external examiners
- feedback
- learning and teaching
- regulations
- special circumstances
- student maternity and family leave
- the student voice
Key changes
Among key changes for the 2013/14 academic session are:
- the introduction of the Accessible and Inclusive Learning Policy, which introduces to classrooms seven of the most common learning adjustments previously made for disabled students
- providing students with formative feedback for every taught course and setting deadlines for providing students with feedback on their work
- a revised Special Circumstances policy where the key changes are that marks will not be amended due to special circumstances; and that the Special Circumstances Committee makes a binding decision which the Board of Examiners must follow in all but exceptional cases
- piloting of an overarching framework for CPD for Learning and Teaching
- a new Code of Student Conduct
