Thought-provoking lectures

The series, held at leading Universities across Scotland, has given a succession of distinguished international scholars a platform to discuss a range of intellectual disciplines.

The Gifford Lectures were established in 1888 by Lord Adam Gifford, a Senator of the College of Justice. Each year, Lectures are held at the University of Edinburgh, University of St Andrews, University of Glasgow and University of Aberdeen.

The Lectures have enabled a most notable field of scholars to contribute to the advancement of theological thought.

Previous speakers have included American religious studies scholar, Professor Jeffrey Stout, primatologist and biological anthropologist at Princeton University, Professor Dr Agustín Fuentes, and English scholar of Ancient Rome and trustee of the British Museum, Professor Mary Beard.

Dupré’s series will be taking place across two weeks from 1 May to 11 May from 17:30 to 19:00 at the University of Edinburgh’s Gordon Aikman Lecture Theatre in George Square.
