Festive Holidays

For the 2021 festive period, the University will close at 5pm on Thursday 23 December 2021, and reopen on 9am on Wednesday 5 January 2022.

Winter Activities

Due to current restrictions, many students and staff might not be able to be with loved ones this year. Therefore, the University has organised a range of activities and support for those staying in Edinburgh.

Students can access all activities and support information regards Winter Break events on the University’s SharePoint site and events app.

Library Opening Times

The Main Library in George Square will be open throughout the festive period except for 24-26 December and 1-2 January.

Services available over that period will include more than 600 study spaces, laptop loans and printers.

The Law Library and the Noreen & Kenneth Murray Library will be open until 5pm on Monday 21st December, then closed until Tuesday 5 January.

All other site libraries will be closed for the festive period from 5pm Friday 18 December, reopening on Tuesday 5 January.
