Careers Beyond Academia - Dr Christina McClure - Wednesday 11th October 2023

We are delighted to be joined by Dr Christina McClure from VectorBuilder.

Christina completed her BSc and PhD at The University of Aberdeen generating novel AAVs to facilitate in vivo studies of specific neuronal cell types involved in working memory. She then carried on her academic career at The University of Edinburgh where she established AAV technology for in vivo research. Due to high demand, in 2014 the University funded a new research facility to design and provide novel AAVs to researchers around the world. During this time she also was awarded multiple grants, including funding for market research from the BBSRC and £250,000 from the IBioIC to collaborate with a local biotech start up.

In 2018 she discovered VectorBuilder and decided to join the company as a Territory Manager, who she believes to be the emerging industry leader in a wide range of viral and non-viral gene delivery tools and services. She is now Associate Sales Director for Europe, UK and Scandinavia managing the team of sales people across this region.
