Professor elected to Royal Irish Academy *INCLUDE*

The School's Sir Richard Lodge Professor of History has been elected to the Royal Irish Academy in public recognition of academic excellence. (Published 5 January 2014)

The School is pleased to announce that Professor Alvin Jackson has been elected as an Honorary Member of the Royal Irish Academy.

Honorary Membership of the Royal Irish Academy is a rare distinction, confined to around 30 scholars in the humanities and social sciences outside Ireland, and is awarded after rigorous peer review to those 'who have made major contributions to their academic discipline'.

Professor Jackson is also about to take up his recently awarded Major Leverhulme Research Fellowship to pursue his comparative work on Union states.
