We offer various intensive, one-week courses and longer courses running throughout a term or the full academic year to advance individuals' professional learning in a variety of areas.
Returning to teaching course
This is an online course aimed at teachers who have been out of the profession for a while or have graduated abroad and would like to get back into a teaching job in Scotland. Our next course will start in September 2021.
Froebel in childhood practice course
This course is designed for professionals working in Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) with a desire to learn about Friedrich Froebel (1782-1852), one of the most significant of the early years pioneers, and how Froebelian methods are extremely relevant today.
Inclusive Digital Technology course
In this innovative course, participants will learn about the developments and arguments surrounding assistive technologies and pedagogy for pupils with additional support needs. Bookings have closed for the 2021 course and the next available course will run in 2022.
Community engagement: co-constructing knowledge with communities
This 10-week online course is available to both professional learning students and students on the Social Justice and Community Action programme. The next course starts in January 2022.
Making connections through learning for sustainability
This professional learning supports teachers to develop the confidence to plan for, and implement Learning for Sustainability, making connections at individual, school and global levels, and inspiring students to collaborate on the issues that shape our world.
