Following graduation in 1990 I joined an economics consultancy in Oxford for a year and then did the Oxford University MPhil Economics, 1991-1993. I decided not to pursue a DPhil, and instead joined the Government Economics Service in 1993, where I found myself at the Office of Fair Trading (one of the precursors to the Competition and Markets Authority), specialised in competition law and utility regulation, subsequently was chief economist at the Civil Aviation Authority (1999-2003), Associate Director at NERA Economic Consulting (2003-2012), and since then Economics Director at Ofcom. Live in London, married with three children.
