After starting work as an economist, I swapped careers into television production in 1979 and have thoroughly enjoyed myself ever since. I've travelled the world making programmes and have delved into countless subjects ranging from high finance to watercolour painting. Loving my job proved incompatible with marriage or a family but I do manage to look after my horse, who's very understanding about my working hours.
