The Chaplaincy created a day-long event with the International Story Telling Festival, 2017, ‘When Education Becomes Possible’ to showcase and develop the ways in which people caught in crises can access educational opportunities https://www.ed.ac.uk/news/staff/2017/event-spotlights-stories-of-changed-lives. This event also celebrated the University gaining Sanctuary University status, and developing a partnership with the University of the People, https://www.uopeople.edu/, and the Chaplaincy’s fundraising to create scholarships for refugees to study at the University of Edinburgh.
