Visit of Fairview International School

Anatomy@Edinburgh was delighted to host a taster day for 80 sixteen-year-old students from Fairview International School recently, as part of their annual tour of UK universities.

The taster day comprised a guided tour of the Anatomical Museum, followed by a hands-on practical session in the Anatomy Teaching Laboratory, where students had the unique opportunity to ‘build a skeleton’ from the individual bones – a typical day one medical student activity. It is hoped that the experience will better inform the students’ choice of university and programme of study in the near future. Coverage of the UK expedition and participating universities has also been reported in the Scotsman.

Fairview International School is a leading IB (International Baccalaureate) World School, with 5 campuses in Malaysia offering a holistic learning experience to children aged 5 to 18 through the world-renowned IB learning framework. Fairview’s newest campus in Bridge of Allan is the first school in Scotland to provide the full, uninterrupted IB continuum of primary years, middle years and diploma programmes.
