Social and Civic Responsibility Plan
To make the greatest impact the University of Edinburgh has identified four key areas through its Strategy 2030, each shaped by its values. Social and Civic Responsibility is one of those four key areas.
Approach to reporting

The University is taking world-leading climate action to be net zero carbon by 2040.
We will widen participation in higher education and support inclusion
Building on our values and our commitment to having a positive impact on our local and global community, we are working to ensure that students from a wide range of diverse backgrounds thrive and feel a sense of belonging.
We will work together with local communities
Our Community Plan 2020-2025 sets out 32 practical commitments the University of Edinburgh is making to our local communities.
Contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals, part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, were adopted by the United Nations and world leaders in 2015.
