How to obtain new or second-hand furniture.
All requests for furniture should be made in the first instance to the Furniture Office via the furniture request form. If you are unsure what services we provide please see links below.
You can also contact us by phone or email to discuss your request, prior to submitting the furniture request form.
We can also help if you find that you are unable to get into a locked cupboard or pedestal unit. However, if you require a new set of keys, these can be obtained from Office Specialities on 01750 720745. They will send the keys to you and invoice you directly.
All requests are considered and furniture provided will be appropriate to the users concerned. Where possible, good second-hand furniture will be supplied.
If new furniture is required, advice will be given on suitable options, dependant on the location and use.
When items returned are in good condition, we will offer this furniture to other departments before supplying new. Our stock of second-hand furniture is dependent on what is being returned from other areas of the University.
We cannot guarantee exact match in product code or finish. If you are unsure that items being provided are suitable, a photograph of the item (where practical) can be provided.
If we are unable to provide suitable second-hand furniture, new furniture can be supplied.
There may be a charge to the department for new furniture. If you are unsure whether or not you will be charged for new furniture, please contact us, and we will be happy to advise you.
