Events taking place to mark LGBT+ History Month

A variety of events will take place at the University throughout February to mark LGBT+ History Month. 

LGBT+ History Month is a chance to celebrate and learn about LGBT+ community milestones and influential figures, past and present. This year’s theme is #UnderTheScope – celebrating LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to the field of medicine and healthcare both historically and today.

Staff Pride Network events for staff and PhD students 

The network is celebrating LGBT+ History Month with a series of events across the University focusing on the theme of medicine and the contributions of the LGBT+ community to science, culture, and society. To see a full list of what’s happening, please visit the Staff Pride Network webpages:

The Staff Pride Network also organise a range of regular coffee and cake meet-up events across our campuses, including Western General Hospital, King’s Buildings, BioQuarter and the central area.

LGBTQ+ Discovery Sessions 

Come along to these LGBTQ+ Discovery Sessions, which showcase materials from the Lothian Health Services Archive. These events take place on the 14 (in person) and 28 February (online). You don't need to be researching LGTBQ+ topics, have any knowledge of archives or be involved in participatory research to come along. Everyone is welcome to attend!
