Youth talent and early careers event

On Thursday 30 March, find out how to inspire and recruit young people and develop a skilled, committed and qualified future workforce.

All staff are invited to attend the Youth Talent & Early Careers Event.

It is hosted by the University HR Services (UHRS) Resourcing team, which is looking for staff who are in a position to hire a Modern Apprentice, offer their time to mentor school pupils or want to find out more about offering employment to current students.

Get involved

The Youth Talent & Early Careers Event takes place on Thursday 30 March, from 9-10.30am at 50 George Square.

Youth employment

The event aims to raise awareness of the benefits and support available at the University for youth and student employment.

It also aims to inspire staff, and those who support recruitment, to engage with current youth and student employment initiatives when filling vacancies.

The session provides an opportunity for staff to hear briefly from partner organisations involved in youth and student employment.

Speakers from the following organisations will attend the event:

  • Skills Development Scotland (SDS)
  • You Train - training provider of Modern Apprentices
  • The JET Academy
  • Career Ready
  • Careers Service, University of Edinburgh

Time will be available for staff to speak with participating organisations and ask any specific questions that they might have.

If you require any further information, please contact the UHRS Resourcing Team at HR.Recruitment@ed.ac.uk.

Most of us remember our first mentor or the person who took us under their wing when starting our careers. I’m confident that by bringing new ideas, fresh thinking and a generational perspective, our Modern Apprentice will have a notable impact to our existing team and stakeholders.
