Get Connected: Welcome day and networking event for new research staff and academics.
Have you recently joined the University in an academic or research role?
The Institute for Academic Development is holding an informal event to allow new research staff and academics to find out more about the University and the support and resources available to them in their new role.
The event is also open to new post-docs who have previously done their doctoral studies at the University.
Event programme
The event will involve round table discussions focussing on career development opportunities, applying for research funding, advice on engagement, impact and consultancy, information services, finance and developing teaching skills.
Attendees will also hear insights from senior academics, find out about the University’s research information system, PURE, and have the opportunity to get a professional profile picture taken.
There will be opportunities to network with other new colleagues from across the University - coffee and lunch is included and the day will finish with a drinks reception.
