Free Gaelic taster course open to staff

A free 6-week Gaelic taster course beginning in February is open to all staff

Ever wondered what Ciamar a tha thu? means or, even, how to say it? Here is your chance to find out:

The University is offering a 6-week taster course to all staff members - absolutely free!

Introduction to Gaelic

You’ll meet once a week, on Wednesdays, 6.30 to 8.20pm, starting on 3rd February 2016. Places are limited so book now through MyEd!

You will be introduced to some basic vocabulary, grammar and syntax. But, don’t worry, emphasis will be on communication and simple conversations. With the help of work sheets and communicative activities you will learn and consolidate new vocabulary and phrases.

You will also get an introduction to the spelling system of Gaelic and to pronunciation, and learn about grammatical concepts such as masculine and feminine nouns, prepositions and pronouns.

And, soon you will be able to say: Tha mi a' tuigsinn.
