Learn and Media Hopper Replay Integrations
Information about the Learn and Media Hopper Replay Zoom Integration.
The Learn Zoom integration allows staff to schedule zoom meetings within Learn courses and automatically have recordings added to your Media Hopper Replay library. This then allows staff and students to access Zoom meetings and recordings via Learn.
After adding the Zoom tool to a Learn course, staff and students will be able to access a course-specific meeting schedule. The scheduler will display all meetings scheduled for the course by all Instructors. Users can access their full Zoom meeting schedule for all courses via ed-ac-uk.zoom.us.
Please note that in order to enable Zoom, and add a link to this in your course, you will need to be an Instructor on the course.
-
Enter the Learn course you wish to add Zoom to.
-
Go to the left-hand menu (LHM) and click on Customisation.
-
Click Tool Availability.
-
Scroll to the bottom of the page and check all the boxes in the Zoom row.
-
Click Submit.
Adding a link to Zoom
To allow students to access the Learn course’s Zoom meetings you need to add a Tool link in the course.
- Got to the course materials area of your course.
- Hover over the Tools option at the top of the page.
- Scroll down and click More Tools.
- Click on Zoom.
- This will then open a Tool information page for you to complete.
- Enter a name and a detailed description for the tool link.
- Set any additional options that you would like.
- When you are happy with the details, click Submit.
- This will save the Zoom link and add it to the chosen area of your Learn course.
Media Hopper Replay now has the ability to automatically move Zoom meeting recordings from the Cloud Recordings tab into your Media Hopper replay library, or course content area. This then allows you to use all of the interaction tools available within Media Hopper Replay such as captioning and Q and A.
We recommend the use of Media Hopper Replay to manage, store and edit Zoom recordings due to the additional interactive functionality and accessibility support that it provides. Any recordings added to Media Hopper Replay are also then protected by the Media Hopper Replay retention policy.
Media Hopper Replay can also be used to start instant Zoom meetings, please see Using Zoom in Media Hopper Replay for more information. Please note, that using instant meetings will not allow you to pre-upload polls or breakout rooms to a session. You will also be unable to add any alternative hosts and will have to manually allocate co-hosts within the meeting if this is required.
By default recordings go into your personal Library, which you can get to from the top menu after you have clicked through to Media Hopper Replay. To get the recordings to automatically appear to students in your course:
1. Go to Account Settings from the top menu.
2. Click on "Zoom Settings", and you should see a list of your Zoom meetings. You can then use the dropdown to point the relevant session at your course instead of "Library Only". You will only need to do this once.
3. This will create a class area within the course where your recordings will automatically be set to after recording in Zoom. The recordings will be available as soon as they have processed.
If after changing the automatic feed location in your Zoom Settings the recording is still in your library please try the steps below:
1. Go to my library.
2. Hover over the recording and click on the '...' that appear in the bottom right-hand corner.
3. Click on 'share' and change the tab at the top of the pop-up to Class. Fill in relevant information for the video such as title, description, and the course where you want to publish the video to.
4. Complete this information and click 'share'.
The video should now be available to the selected class. If the video is not there, please contact IS Helpline, providing details of the Learn course, class, and recording title.
An Introductory session on Using Zoom in Learn is available to book via Events Booking.
