The University of Edinburgh welcomes applications from well qualified students from Bulgaria. Currently, there are 30 postgraduate students from Bulgaria studying at the University of Edinburgh.

Academic entry requirements for masters degrees

You must normally hold a bachelor degree in an appropriate subject from an accredited university.

Typically, the minimum entry requirement for our masters programmes is the international equivalent of a UK 2:1 honours degree. However, entry requirements vary between degree programmes, and some may require the equivalent of a First Class degree or previous study in a specific subject.

Typically, entry to PhD study is based on a masters degree in an appropriate subject.

We recommend you contact potential supervisors and discuss your intended research before you apply. You will probably have to write a research proposal to apply for your PhD. Talk to your supervisor about whether you need to do this.
