What do you need to join?
- To purchase these memberships you must have a valid University of Edinburgh student card.
- Your University card number (16 digits long beginning 100100900)
- A valid credit or debit card in order to make the payment
- Please note: your membership will commence immediately upon payment.

2024/2025 Off-peak Memberships
- Access to the Easter Bush Gym at all times but only during off-peak times at the Pleasance gym (6am to 2:30pm on weekdays and all weekend) and swimming pool (morning, afternoon & weekend sessions)
- Does not include Edinburgh University Sports Union club facility use or access to the BUCS UNIversal gym scheme
- Due to limited opening times, we do not offer off-peak membership options that include Climbing.

Edinburgh University Sport Union Club members (including Performance Athletes)
Rather than charging Edinburgh University Sports Union clubs for training or fixture time at our facilities, we ask all members of Sports Union clubs who play or train with us to purchase a Peak Gym, Class, Swim or Peak Climbing membership.
In Semester 1 club members who use Sport & Exercise facilities for training or fixtures arranged by the SU must ensure that each member holds a membership that includes EUSU fixtures and training by Sunday 13 October 2024.
In Semester 2 club members must hold a membership that includes EUSU fixtures and training by Sunday 16 February 2024.

BUCS UNIversal membership scheme
UNIversal Gym membership opens the doors to multiple gyms around the country, meaning you can work out wherever in the United Kingdom you are, helping you stay active all year round. This means if you have an eligible gym membership at your university gym of study and it's part of the network, you will have access to many more gyms around the country at no extra cost.

Roslin Innovation Centre at Easter Bush
Tenants of the Roslin Innovation Centre. Tenants can purchase a 'Staff 'membership which includes the use of the Easter Bush gym using their University of Edinburgh visitor card.

Important Information for those purchasing a NEW Community membership

Gym, Class, Swim
Available for those 64 years old and over, these memberships include access to the Pleasance gym, group exercise classes during off-peak hours (6am to 2:30pm on weekdays and all weekend) and member swimming sessions at the pool at St Leonard's Land (During morning, afternoon and weekend sessions). If you wish to attend outside these hours you are able to purchase a Community membership.
These memberships are not available online as they require validation of eligibility and must be purchased at Pleasance reception.
Due to its smaller capacity, we currently do not offer access to the Easter Bush Gym in our Off-Peak Senior memberships.

- University of Edinburgh students and staff members, on the production of a valid student and staff card
- By paying the PAYG charge, the user agrees to our terms and conditions including the University Sport & Exercise Code of Conduct.

Further Information
We've been aware of the limited gender options in our leisure management system (LMS) for some time. We are now in the procurement phase to replace the LMS with a modern system, aiming for implementation in 2026. A priority of the new system is to include expanded and customisable gender options.
Issues when booking a class or climbing session
- You will be able to book a session after you buy your membership online, however, please allow up to 30 minutes for your information to update. If you try too soon you will see a 'too soon to book' message.
