Black History Month 2020
October is Black History Month, with various events being held across the University. Black History Month celebrates and commemorates the history of the African and Caribbean communities and their diasporas.
EREN
The Edinburgh Race Equality Network (EREN) is a network for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff and allies committed to creating an environment where race is celebrated, and everyone is treated fairly.
EREN are launching their Book Club on the 13th October - please register by Sunday 4th October.

Lunchtime talks
As part of the Scotland’s Black History Month programme in October 2020, the Scottish Graduate Schools of Social Science (SGSSS) and Arts and Humanities (SGSAH) are joining forces to offer a series of ‘Lunchtime talks’ celebrating the history, achievements and contributions of Black and minority ethnic people from across and beyond Scotland.
The talks will take place every Tuesday in October from 1.15pm to 2pm.

Black heroes of mathematics
The International Centre for Mathematical Sciences (ICMS) are co-hosting two days of sessions on the 26th and 27th October, to celebrate the inspirational contributions of black role models to the field of mathematics.
