The programme will be embedded within the well-established IRR Postgraduate Training Framework, and throughout their studies Martin Lee Doctoral Scholars  will take part in key postgraduate teaching events at the Institute. In addition, a series of programme-specific training and networking opportunities will cultivate a supportive and interactive cohort of Martin Lee Doctoral Scholars.

Students are given regular opportunities to present their research, and receive constructive feedback, including 3 minute thesis competitions, poster sessions, labs meetings, centre seminars,  science retreats, and national and international conferences.

The programme will hold Martin Lee Scholarship Symposia to bring the scholars and faculty on the programme together to share their research findings. Hong Kong Summer Schools will offer Martin Lee Doctoral Scholars the opportunity to participate in academic and social activities at hosting research institutions in Hong Kong.
