Therapeutic Radiographer

Background

Elaine is a Therapeutic Radiographer, qualifying in 1987 from Edinburgh School of Radiotherapy.  She gained experience in various Radiotherapy departments such as St Thomas's hospital London , Aberdeen Royal Infirmary ,  Edinburgh Cancer Centre ,The Beatson Oncology Unit and Westmead Hospital , Sydney , before being appointed as Clinical Tutor in Radiotherapy at Queen Margaret College . She was an integral member of the team in writing and delivering  the degree programme for student radiographers.  

From this postion Elaine became a lecturer in Radiotherapy,part - time, as well as a cancer support specialist within Maggies Centres .  She is an important member of the Radiotherapy Service in the HfSA,  helping and supporting patients in terms of  quality of life and pain management. Elaine joined the world class cancer team here at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in January 2012
