Thesis title: Mitochondrial protein SFXN3 as a novel target in neurodegenerative diseases

Affiliated research centres

  • The University of Glasgow
  • The Roslin Institute

Project activity

My project aims to build on findings from SFXN3 and other potential candidates from the proteomic screen to develop potential therapies for patients suffering with Parkinson's Disease.  To do so, I will work with mice and Drosophila to determine whether these proteins are viable as therapeutic targets.  Furthermore, I will work with cell cultures and yeast model systems to further investigate the function of SFXN3.
