BMS Learning & Teaching Forum
Open to all staff and PG students, this annual meeting celebrates our successes and showcases recent initiatives in student support, teaching, curriculum development and research in Teaching and Learning at the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences.
The annual BMS Learning and Teaching Forum was held on the 24th of May in the HRB lecture theatre. This forum was a great success with staff and PhD students from all over the university gathering to celebrate Learning, Teaching and Student support at the Deanery of Biomedical Sciences.
Professor Mark Clements, Director of Learning, Teaching and Student Experience at Middlesex University brilliantly started the event with an inspiring presentation entitled “Should we be more creative when teaching science?” (You can access the slides below).
The event continued with series of stimulating and interesting presentations covering a range of recent initiatives in student support, teaching and curriculum development in Teaching and Learning. (You can see the full programme and access the presentations recording below).
Creating time and space to reflect on learning and teaching practices is fundamental to engaging with the key principles of ongoing review and enhancement of the student experience within our BMS programmes. Following on from the outstanding success of last year’s inaugural Learning and Teaching Forum, this year’s forum again demonstrated the creativity, innovation and enthusiasm with which staff within BMS approach these challenges. Undoubtedly this will be fuelled further by the thought-provoking ideas and examples presented by Mark Clements in what was an inspiring talk on how we can think differently about how we teach science
