Teviot reopening

The historic and much-loved students’ union building will open on Wednesday 4 March 2026.

From Wednesday 4 March, students, staff and the public will be able to use spaces inside Teviot, including:

  • Union Social, a new morning-to-late-night bar and eatery.
  • The Gallery Café, a grab-and-go spot for quick lunches and sweet treats.
  • The Gallery Commons, a space for meeting with friends and collaborative working.
  • The Lounge, social space with heat and eat facilities.

Other spaces will open over the following few days, including the popular Library Bar. This staggered reopening will support a smooth experience for those accessing the building, as well as the team working at Teviot.

The Students’ Association will be hosting a range of events throughout March to welcome students back to the building, including Six Nations rugby screenings and live music. Event details will become available on the Students’ Association website:

Reopening Teviot also means some changes will take place in Potterrow, which was adapted when Teviot closed to provide students with an alternative space. Spaces in Potterrow will revert to their original uses as daytime study space, event spaces and staff offices. The Students’ Association website has the full details of changes taking place:

Student services based in Potterrow, including The Advice Place, Student Voice and Student Opportunities, will be open and available as usual.
