Students can self-select new groups in timetable system

Students can now change groups in the University timetabling system instantly without having to wait for approval.

The improvement brought in from the start of this academic year is the latest made in response to student feedback.

Previously, students had to submit a request through an online form and wait up to five days for the timetabling team to approve and process the change.

Instead, more than 8,000 changes were made through the new self-service function during welcome week and the first three weeks of semester one. It allows students to fit their studies around other commitments more easily.

In some cases – where some Schools don’t allow self-service or if alternatives are full – students still have to submit a change request.

Students will be able to use self-service again for semester two, once the timetables are released.
