The Met Office has said high winds could reach 100mph (160km/h) and there is a risk to life due to flying debris, power cuts and damage to buildings. They have advised people to stay indoors and to avoid traveling.
The University will be closed and no teaching, in-person and online, will be taking place on Friday 24 January. We will seek to make sure that this missed teaching is recovered through the remainder of the Semester.
The Main Library will be closed from midnight on 23 January and is expected to reopen on Saturday 25 January, depending on the weather conditions. Please check the Library webpage for updated opening times before you travel:
Any events planned to take place on campus on 24 January will also be cancelled.
