National Student Survey 2025

The results from the annual National Student Survey (NSS) highlight increased student satisfaction.

The results continue to show where we are doing well, and we have seen improvement on every area of focus in NSS this year. NSS also continues to place a spotlight on the key areas where we need to improve.

The three most improved areas are:

  • Student voice: 4.2 percentage point increase to a 69.1% positive response
  • Assessment and feedback: 3.9 percentage point increase to a 64.9% positive response
  • Academic support: 3.7 percentage point increase to an 84.2% positive response.

Additionally, the survey highlighted strong performances in the following themes:

  • Learning resources: 1.8 percentage point increase to an 86.5% positive response
  • Teaching on my course: 2 percentage point increase to an 85.3% positive response.

The results have also indicated some areas for further focus and enhancements. These include the students’ union, the quality of assessment feedback and the communication of mental wellbeing services. Each of these areas also saw improvements this year.

It is encouraging to see that some of the changes we have introduced recently to improve our students’ experience are now making a difference. This includes action we have taken to check and improve assessment feedback times and ensure students understand how their feedback is acted on. We are also aware of how much our students value our new student support model, and this is reflected in this year’s NSS results.

Please continue sharing your feedback. It is essential to help us make changes and improve. We want to hear from you and are committed to letting you know what we are doing to respond to your feedback.
