Exam workshops and study skills consultations
The Institute for Academic Development is running a 'Managing Your Exams' workshop series that’s open to both undergraduate and postgraduate taught students. The workshops cover topics like improving your exam technique and writing more effective essays in your exams.
All taught students also have automatic access to the ‘Exam Bootcamp’ Learn Essentials course which covers everything from preparing to revise, revising effectively and successful exam strategies.
If you’re looking for one-to-one support, you can book a short appointment with a study development advisor to discuss how to enhance your study skills. These sessions are popular, so make sure to book your space early.
Resources from the Library
The University Library has a huge range of resources to help you study for your exams.
You can download past exam papers to practise.
If you’re studying remotely, you can use the Library’s 'Scan & Deliver' service to request scanned extracts of print materials.
When you’re ready to take a break, the Library’s Leisure and Wellbeing guide helps you to discover resources on all aspects of wellbeing, such as books and the extensive Main Library music collection.
Study spaces on campus
Our Study Spaces website is the best place to find information about locations, opening times and booking study spaces via our booking app.
From 7 April additional study spaces will be opening on the lower ground floor of 40 George Square. A number of our libraries will also have extended opening hours during the revision period – check the website for all the details.
‘Break from Study’ events
Join our ‘Break from Study’ events to enjoy some free breakfast or lunch, take part in activities like yoga or exam strategies to help you destress and connect with other students.
All students are welcome to attend, but you need to book in advance.
Support from Student Counselling
Student Counselling is running a number of workshops to help you manage anxiety and stress and feel more focused. The workshops take place online, and you can book your space using MyEd.
They’re also running workshops that focus on reducing digital distraction workshops each month until the end of August. If you’re too easily distracted on your smartphone or laptop, these online and in-person workshops provide actionable steps to take back control of your digital life and focus on what matters.
