Edinburgh Award reception celebrates our outstanding student achievements
200 students from across the University joined the reception at the Playfair Library on 22 April 2025.
The Edinburgh Award recognises students for getting involved in activities outside of their degree programme, such as work experience and volunteering. The award scheme encourages students to reflect on and develop essential skills for their future careers and beyond.
More than 1,000 students achieve the award each year, with the number of award versions on offer increasing year on year.
Attendees at the reception heard speeches from Lucy Evans, University Deputy Secretary Students, and Graeme Butler, Assistant Director, Early ID Marketing & Campaigns Manager UK, at EY.
We’re hugely proud of each one of the students achieving the Edinburgh Award this year. It’s inspiring to see the variety of activities our students take part in. This programme is an opportunity for our students to develop essential skills for their future and make a really positive contribution to benefit our community. Events like this are a great opportunity for our students to get together and take a moment to celebrate their fantastic achievements.
