International Women’s Day & Women’s History Month

A range of events are taking place across the University this March to celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day on 8 March is a global celebration of the achievements of women, past and present.

Women's History Month runs throughout March and aims to highlight the contributions of women throughout historical events and contemporary society.

International Women’s Day Lecture 2024

This year's International Women's Day Lecture, entitled ‘50 Ways’, will be delivered by Amina Shah, National Librarian and Chief Executive of the National Library of Scotland. Amina will contemplate her 50 years on the planet through the stories of women who have inspired her and examine what challenges women will meet and overcome in the next half-century.

This event takes place on 8 March and is free to attend. Admission is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so you must reserve a spot to avoid missing out.
