Janet Legrand elected as Senior Lay Member

Janet Legrand has been elected as the Senior Lay member on the University’s governing body, the University Court, for a period of three years from 1 August 2020.

Janet is a former Senior Partner of international law firm DLA Piper, one of the first women to achieve such a senior role in a major law firm and a pioneering role model to others. Janet is a strong advocate for the promotion of diversity, inclusion and social mobility. Beyond the law, she is heavily involved in higher education and active in charities that work to help children.

Janet will play an important role in leading the University’s governing body and in supporting and challenging the Senior Executive.

Congratulations to Janet and thank you to everyone who participated in the election. A summary of the election results can be found on the Court webpages
