Students to shadow CEOs for the day

Two Edinburgh undergraduates have been selected to shadow a Chief Executive Officer from a leading UK business.

Declan McLaughlin, a final year Chemistry student will shadow Anne Jessop, CEO of The Royal Mint, and Michael Andrejczuk, a second year Informatics student will shadow Tim Stacey, CEO of DFS.

Both students were selected as part of a programme run by global executive recruitment company, Odgers Berndtson.

The programme is designed to find promising future leaders, as well as give participants the opportunity to find out more about a CEO's typical working day.

Declan and Michael were picked as the finalists following a rigorous assessment and interview session at Odgers Berndtson’s London offices.

CEO for a Day programme

Odgers Berndtson’s CEO for a Day programme allows undergraduates at all UK universities to apply to spend a day walking in the shoes of a top CEO.

During their day with a CEO, participants learn about the role of the CEO, their organisation, witness a typical day and have a chance to ask their questions and speak to the CEO about their experience.
