Award-winning film

The event will include a screening of 2011’s Tomboy, as well as a panel discussion afterwards.

Tomboy is an award-winning, French-language drama written and directed by Céline Sciamma. It stars Zoé Héran as a ten-year-old schoolgirl called Laure who moves with her family into a district of Paris. Laure begins to present as a boy, introducing themselves to their new friends as Mikäel, which sets up an ensuing drama about gender identity involving both family and friends.

The film will be subtitled.

The post-film panel will involve a diverse collection of voices to discuss the film and broader issues.
