Spinout funding scheme open to students

Students and staff at Edinburgh can apply for government funding to help bring their business ideas to the global marketplace.

The High Growth Spinout Programme, run by Scottish Enterprise, supports leading edge technologies at the pre-commercialisation stage by awarding funding and providing support.

The three-year programme provides the opportunity to apply for up to £200,000 in year one and a further £400,000 for each of the following years.

The initiative supports the pre-commercialisation of lead-edge technologies emerging from Scotland’s universities, research institutes and NHS Boards.

Programme event

An event on Thursday 19 January will provide staff and students with more information about the programme.

The free event takes place from 12.30pm – 2pm in the Hudson Beare Building at King’s Buildings.

The event is open to all research staff and students. It is hosted by Edinburgh Research & Innovation, the commercialisation arm of the University.
