The Electoral Commission reported in December 2015 that only 66 per cent of 18-24 year olds were registered to vote. This contrasts with 96 per cent of over 65s.

To register to vote in the election, visit gov.uk/register-to-vote.
The deadline is 11:59pm on Monday 22 May.
If you’re already registered to vote and haven’t moved since, you don’t need to re-register.
