Exhibition of Chancellor’s Awards and Principal’s Medals designs

Competition designs by students go on display at Old College.

A competition to refresh the designs of the Chancellor’s Awards and Principal’s Medals prizes has been launched with Edinburgh College of Art.

Eight 3rd year students have undertaken the “Presentation, Methods and Context" course this year to develop Medal Commission proposals to a professional standard.

The prototype designs are now on display in Old College reception.

The Selection Panel chair, Senior Vice-Principal Charlie Jeffery, along with the Panel members for the Chancellor’s Awards and Principal’s Medals will make recommendations to the Principal on the winning designs.

35 medals of the winning designs will be repeat casted and will form the awards to be presented to winners of the Chancellor’s Awards and Principal’s Medals from this year onwards.
