The Principal’s Go Abroad Fund is currently seeking applications from undergraduate and postgraduate students eager to go abroad this summer.

Educational experiences

International experiences provide an opportunity to try new things, take on new challenges, and gain a new perspective on your learning and career goals.

Any activity abroad is eligible as long as it has an educational component to it – academic or cultural – so you can be creative! In the past, students have used the funding for:

  • Internships or work placements
  • Conferences or symposiums
  • Research
  • Summer schools
  • Volunteering
  • Opportunities to learn from a culture different from your own

Successful applicants will be chosen based on the strength of their proposed activities.

The Principals’ Go Abroad Fund cannot to be used for any credit-bearing or mandatory components of your degree programme.

How much funding is available?

Successful applicants will receive a bursary of either £350 or £700, depending on financial circumstances.

Students may also be eligible for the Santander Award, which grants awards of either £500 or £1000 (more information on the Principal’s Go Abroad Fund website).
