PhD student wins 3 Minute Thesis prize

Edinburgh student Maddie Long has won the People’s Choice Prize in the UK Final of the 3 Minute Thesis competition.

Maddie, who studies in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences, was awarded the prize for her presentation ‘Language and the Brain: The Skye’s the Limit.’

She competed against 56 semi-finalists and six finalists from UK universities to win an invitation to speak at the Royal Institution in  spring 2017, arranged by Speakezee.

Maddie secured her place in the UK final by winning the University’s 3 Minute Thesis competition earlier this year.
