Fairtrade Fortnight

Help celebrate the University’s fair trade achievements during Fairtrade Fortnight

Fairtrade Fortnight runs from Monday 29th February until Sunday 13th March.

The Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability have organised and curated a series of activities focused on what are considered to be the three key pillars of fair trade: people, products and action.

Events will highlight the impact of fair trade on people around the world, raise awareness of the different types of products available and where they come from, and encourage people to think about ways in which they can make a difference.

Students who want to get hands on experience can apply for one of two fair trade volunteering opportunities or apply to be an events assistant or student reporter.

Fairtrade University

Fairtrade Fortnight is an opportunity to celebrate the fair trade achievements of the University.

Throughout the two weeks, the Department will be promoting the various ways in which the University is supporting fair trade, be it through catering, staff uniforms or electronics.

They will also be asking staff and students to get creative (Ernest Hemmingway style!), and share their fair trade-inspired ‘6 word stories’. Keep an eye on twitter for more info.
