British Sign Language short course
The University is running a 10 week introductory course on British Sign Language (BSL) starting in April, and students can save 1/3 on course fees.
The course is for people with no previous knowledge of the language. By the end of course students will be able to:
- understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases
- introduce themselves and others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they have
- interact in a simple way
BSL is the preferred language of around 145,000 people in the UK.
Venue and booking
The course takes place at Paterson’s Land on the Holyrood campus alongside many of the other short courses run by the University.
Students can use their EASE login details to claim 1/3 off off short courses when booking online.
