Virtual Learning Environments – student focus groups

Information Services are looking at the data inside our central Virtual Learning Environments (Learn and Moodle), to see what helpful ways of presenting it to staff and to students might be possible.

These might include ways of getting an overview of all your marks for a particular course, all your activity (e.g. logins, discussion board posts), or how your marks compare with the class average. We are gathering evidence of user requirements, which will in turn shape a project for 2014/15.

We are eager to have input from students on:

  • What information would be useful to you
  • What would help you understand this information
  • How you would like to get this information.

Focus group details

We are inviting any interested students on campus to a focus group session on Tuesday 25th March, between 9 and 10.30 am - breakfast will be provided.

Location: David Hume Tower, Faculty Room North

If you can’t attend that meeting, you may wish to sign up for a virtual forum held via the online meeting system Collaborate. This will be on Monday 31st March, between 6pm and 7pm. All you need for this is a computer and a good Internet connection.

EUSA is also assisting us by giving us an opportunity to involve your class reps, so they may also speak to you about this project. You can book onto either session via the MyEd events channel or web links at:
