You will find lots of study skills books in the University’s Main Library shelved at shelf mark LB2395 or on shelves nearby. The most popular are in the Heavy Use Books area on the ground floor.

There are some great online resources that can help with specific things.

The University has a subscription to Cite them right online. This resource will help you to reference just about any source, and understand how to avoid plagiarism.

Developing your English

Developing your English is a set of self-study learning materials provided by the University’s English Language Teaching Centre and includes topics such as writing assignments and good grammar.

The Academic Phrasebank

The Academic Phrasebank by Manchester University provides examples of some generic phrases used in academic writing. The phrases suggested can help you think about and develop your own writing.
